Some bombinations in my head
State of the World: a movie we planned to catch at the Osian. The movie started, looked interesting sadly they were speaking Portuguese and most of us couldn’t follow. So we hollered for the subtitles and they finally came on….only they were in Italian.
More booing and hollering followed without any consequence. Finally some folks went up to the projection room to find the tape running without anyone manning it.
The description of the film had been that of six short stories by six different directors of 15 minutes each. The film running though had gone on for more than fifteen minutes and we grew suspicious that it wasn’t the right film at all. Finally the truth emerged…the volunteers came in to say that it wasn’t the right film and they were stopping it to show another one instead. Incidentally that film called Three Monkeys had already been shown the day before and most of those present had caught it. Didn’t make sense to see the same film again.
So we walked out.
Kept me wondering was this the ludicrous State of the World the guys wanted us to see?
The Biker Brigade: Delhi is under siege, thanks to a gang of criminals who operate on Bikes, shoot people without or at minimum provocation and also loot shops and other establishments.
Now the siege is not because they are a thousand of these folks stalking Delhi streets. From the way I see it, they would at best be 2-4 guys, a small close knit group who can disappear in to the crowd easily and are new to crime so Police records on them don’t exist. However they have learnt their stunts well, are well conversant about Delhi roads and routes and are possibly locals.
The siege as I said is not caused by these guys, its caused by the police, who since they cant catch these folks erect barricades in all sorts of places every morning and evening and harass the office goers who are stranded for hours each day, each way.
Our policing system it seems hasn’t progressed from the days of the British rule. When every act of lawlessness was followed by a march past of the police force.
Do the Police chiefs really think those guys are going to go out to work at a 9 to 5 job?
On a personal note: how come it’s possible to get the most irritated with the person you love the most. The acceptance of weaknesses or limitations of strangers at times seems more than that of your beloved.
Is it because we love them we want them to be perfect or ‘just as we ordered’? Is that fair?
Taste buds: of all the parts in a human body these must be the most surprising barring the mind. You eat at home and then you hallucinate about street food, restaurant food, fast food basically anything but wholesome home food. You get a chance to eat out 15 days in a row and you actually get back home at 1 am (after catching 2 films back to back) and cook to be able to eat ghar ka khana.
Will someone teach these guys something about consistency of desire please?

The Biker-scare is a news to me.
Yes, we do get upset with the one whom we love the most, due to the expectations factor.
About the taste buds thing - it happens to all of us. Guess we are never satisfied with what we get.
As for the movie the guys were playing the wrong film all along so what to say?
Taste buds...well mine are crazy...they only like the unattainable.
These bikers are getting worse by the day and i really dont see the police activities making any dents in their plans.
