On Blogging...
Its been two years since I started blogging. Like with many others it started with visiting a friend’s blog http://sundary.blogspot.com and her insisting that I have one of my own.
I mulled over the idea for some time, thought it a bit disturbing to actually share my ideas with strangers and infact even having acquaintances read some of them felt uncomfortable. But then I did take the plunge, and have not regretted it since.
In the beginning the blog was my way of sharing my thoughts which for paucity of time and opportunity I couldn’t share with someone who mattered a lot in my life. Later as a few bloggers did visit at random and left messages the temptation to write for a wider audience grew.
Much later I felt comfortable enough to share it with close friends and many of them continue to visit the blog and though they don’t comment on the blog, at times their mails mention something I have said in a post and I know they have been reading too. It’s a lovely feeling to be connected in this way in today’s hectic life, where each one of us is forever multitasking.
Some of the bloggers who visited at random slowly became regulars, much like I started frequenting many blogs which intrigued and interested me like:
http://foreverenchantedblog.blogspot.com
http://tequilashots-phatichar.blogspot.com
http://seventhscorpio.blogspot.com
http://effusive-emotions.blogspot.com
http://rayshmadoodlez.blogspot.com
http://avianaonline.blogspot.com
http://prosesandverses.blogspot.com
http://cineraria-summer.blogspot.com
http://sasri.blogspot.com
(This is not by any means a comprehensive list just some that came to mind.)
Blogging also gave me the opportunity to actually write something which wasn’t meant to go into a presentation or proposal or press release. It also meant that the almost forgotten habit of diary writing was revived in some form.
Yes it did have limitations, I had to think of the privacy needs of many friends and their names couldn’t be put up or bitching about colleagues and acquaintances (or even the boss) could land me in trouble if the identity hints were strong enough. But once you are hooked to blogging these are but occupational hazards.
The charm of seeing the words form in front of you and become a story or an article and eventually when you click on the ‘publish’ icon suddenly be there for the world to read is addictive.
And so here I am two years into blogging, with many a friend found through this shared passion (including one who is waiting for me to finish this post so that we can go back to chatting about an intriguing case that’s making media headlines nowadays) and hoping to cross many ‘posts’ mine and others on this journey!!

yes blogging becomes addictive. i too was hesitant at first. it was just meant to track my music education and steps into the entertainment biz...it grew to be a little more but it still has remain the same...
i don't know if i could ever stop blogging on my music path in general...i may take breaks here and there but now i feel guilty if i don't blog....
maybe it's my narcisstic way of thinking that others out there care of what i'm doing and what i think...
but hey it keeps me blogging...i will try to stay as genuine as i've always been..
glad you do come by here and there to my blog!
:)
U r so right I do follow your journey to the top of the music charts....and hope, pray, feel disappointed and elated with you too.
Thanks for sharing and believe me you are not narcisstic at all....none of us who blog are...if we were we wouldnt be satisfied leaving the thoughts behind in the virtual world we would be screaming it out in the real one.
We are just slightly lonely people looking for kindred souls in the world.
Thanks for dropping by, rest assured I will be visting your blog too.
