Is this where it all started?

This murder of brother by brother?

This raping of the Motherland?

We were fooled then, are we going to continue doing so for ever?

Will we never learn any lessons?

(Please read the english text on the image to understand where I am coming from. Frankly I have'nt verified the authenticity of this statement but I can't help believing that this or something similar was planned to bring my golden country down to its knees. )

This, i do not think is where it all started. I've never thought of it that way.

I wonder when and how people started to believed that a fanatic extremist thought is far more important than an innocent life.

Yes, I would verify the truth of this statement. I dont think Macaulay could be so naive to put this on sarkari record.
But then you never know.
I get the spirit of your post. You are absolutely right. Even if it be false, Indians need to realise that we have to recalculate our priorities and the value of our unity.

Hey watch the news, people gathered at Gateway of India- thousands of people in a peaceful protest, and you will feel this is how we must have how we felt all those years ago when we won our first FREEDOM peacefully.

Trevor....am not saying that's when the Mumbai blasts were planned just that the seeds of distrust were sown in a planned manner...for long term gains of a few.

hey Army guy...how goes it with you? yeah this is what is still happening..thats what i wanted to say...

June...welcome to my enchanted world....The mumbai attacks were not master minded by the British. The distrust and enemity between communities in india was. and we are still reaping the crop of those bitter seeds...thats what i was trying to point to.

I was shocked to read such a terrible statement. Thank God that he is dead and long gone.

Forgive my language but that bastard spoke about India as though the people there were animals that needed to be trained to his ways.
He should have been thrown out of politics and disregarded as a historian.

And you know that our IPC ( Indian Penal Code ) is written by the same Lord Macallay and the irony is that there has not been a single ammendment to that document which still has references to Balochistan as part of India, whereas we have ammended our own constitution written by our own people umpteen number of times.

I have been writing about my trips on this blog regularly under the label footprints . So much so that part of the excitement of going on a trip now seems to be the recounting of it once back on the blog for friends. The trip this time was no different, since right from the beginning I kept filing away details in my mind and clicking pictures all with the view that it would get space on the blog.
