Waiting

Waiting to break free
to be bound again
see the horizon turn a brilliant orange
see shy flowers bloom

I am waiting for downpours which can quench my thirst
Waiting for rain
for the smile that lights up my life
for it to be light again
Waiting, just waiting

Waiting to see the world
for the world to see me
for you to see me
the way I am without pretense

Waiting to live life
Waiting to die
I am waiting,
to be born again

hmmm...hmmm..have you listened to John Mayer's song "Waiting for the world to change?" It is similar to your poem here. It talks about people in our generation 25 to 35 who are suppose to change the world but the world says we are lazy and just sitting as the world (US) goes to war etc.... he kind of explains from his point of view why we are not reacting....

thanks for stopping by!

not sure..but our generation i think is sitting around passively...i strongly believe the generation after us..the ones who are in college and high school are going to be the ones taking the next major steps....

Touching poem..there's something 'bout it..a melancholy that's hard to brush away.

First time here, won't be the last, lemme tell you :-)

ps: no, our gen' is not lazy. The world around us has got more impatient, tha's all :)

It's nice. Were you thinking about wishes/dreams. We do this multiple times...to realize we cant achieve everything we wish.
Keep writing.

nice one..i hate to think this poem references human life...your last para suggests otherwise?..wonder what you had in mind when writing this..i will take a guess..maybe a plant seed ..anyone?

Good thought process....somehow I'm biased towards rhyming lines...but nonetheless I like your waiting approach.
